Shorter comment. You probably want to include the common names for patterns, where they make sense, so that people can search for them without having to convert to your new nomenclature. Perhaps just stick to the most common named patterns based on a list like Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Checkmate_pattern).
I agree that doing it manually would be a chore. Assuming it makes sense programmatically, you could put together sample subsets of all the named checkmates, algorithmically classify them with your new approach, and add the traditional name to the end of all those classifications that match. It doesn’t have to be an exhaustive effort.

I just feel like it is a little bit of cheating to manually do it.. But I will think about if I should add some keywords manually!
