Hi!
Last month I in secrecy launched a new online chess training community together with FM Nate Solon, who writes Zwischenzug. We invited a group of founding members to test the training program. Now we are ready to launch The Chess Gym and invite everyone, who wants to train chess and make it a daily habit to join.
The Chess Gym
For months we have worked hard to cut out all the distractions to get to the core of chess improvement.
We have boiled down our knowledge and experiences. Nate has the coaching perspective and the FIDE Master-level insights, while I have contributed with lessons learned from my journey and work with chess improvement.
We do not believe in watching endless videos or following complicated training programs. At The Chess Gym, we will focus on playing, reviewing, and solving.
Our approach to learning is grounded in what's proven to work. We will focus on analysis and pushing your abilities and understanding of the game. It's about effort, teaching others, and active learning. We hope the simple premise will make it easier for the members to get started working out.
The core of the gym will be solving the daily positions and sharing your analysis.
We have built a simple habit tracker to help keep score of your progress with the training program.
We will not focus on rating goals, and we want the community to be as egalitarian as possible. The plan is to celebrate the daily efforts and dedication to the game and stay orientated on the process.
