Over the past few weeks, I've been collaborating with the paid supporters of Say Chess secretly on a new project. Now, I'm excited to share the progress we've made.
In early November, I introduced the concept of a chess training tracker in a newsletter—a tool I still aim to develop. This idea led to yet another idea. An online platform for The Tactics Ladder books!
Developing a chess puzzle site with a functional database and user login was more challenging than anticipated. A lot of hours have been invested in the last week into building the new site, but I think the effort has paid off.
The Tactics Ladder books now are accessible online, making the training method easy to follow. You can explore the platform at → tacticsladder.com ←
The Tactics Ladder series is designed to systematically improve your tactical skills, offering 10,000 puzzles from the Lichess database that have been selected due to high user ratings. The online trainer incorporates a spaced repetition system to optimize long-term retention, scheduling reviews at determined intervals.
There is free access to 3 books with a daily limit of 30 puzzles. For unlimited access to all 10,000 puzzles, a premium subscription is available at $3.99 per month.
Looking ahead, I plan to expand the platform by adding more books and features. The feedback from the paid subscribers has been invaluable, and I encourage you to continue to share your thoughts and ideas to help improve the site.
I hope you will give it a try!
Ps. This is also kind of a stress test of the system since this email goes out to +5.000 readers, so be patient if something happens 🤞
