Hi,
Finally, I’m playing real chess again! A tournament at my local club has just started with 1 game per week over 14 weeks. The games are 90 minutes with 30-second increments from move 1 + 30 minutes added at move 40. That is a long time when I have been used to playing the online time formats.
In preparation for the game, I went early to bed the day before and I also took a 20 min. deep-rest-nap on the commute back from work since the game started at 7.15 PM and could have lasted until midnight. At the game, I actually felt rested and ready, so I will continue with this protocol onwards.
My opponent for the game was Palle Bratholm currently rated 2068 FIDE, with a peak rating of 2158. Not an easy opponent for round 1. I have recorded my thoughts on the game and uploaded it to YouTube. Enjoy:
I will do my best to make game reviews for all the games. Remember to follow my YouTube channel! Let me know what you think about the video in the comments.
